All the way from California, Al-Akhbar brings a new narrative to the sounds of home—one that transcends war and conflict, carrying instead melodies of joy, memory, and unity. By blending the rich tones of traditional Arabic instruments like the oud (عود), nay (ناي), and riqq (رق) with the improvisational spirit of jazz.

Al-Akhbar (الأخبار) is a genre-defying ensemble that reimagines Arabic traditional music through the lens of jazz, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and innovative. Named after the Arabic word for “news” (الأخبار)
